The current economic downturn due to the COVID-19 pandemic is being called ‘one the most unequal in history’, especially harming underserved communities. Moreover, the temporary closures of dental offices has played a role in further increasing barriers to care. Through this webinar, we will explore the current state of oral health disparities and the potential role of the COVID-19 pandemic in exacerbating them. We will be joined by Ms. Cheryl Fish- Parcham, Director of Access Initiatives at Families USA; Dr. Tim Ricks, Chief Dental Officer at US Public Health Service, Dr. Bob Russell. Public Health Dental Director and Chief at the Iowa Department of Public Health; and Dr. Brian Swann, Chief of Oral Health at Cambridge Health Alliance.
